GF Linamar, a joint venture between GF Automotive and diversified manufacturing expert Linamar, celebrated together with more than 300 guests its official opening in Mills River (North Carolina,USA) on October, 5th.
With the official ribbon cutting Carlos Vasto, General Manager of the new facility, and his honored guests Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar, as well as Josef Edbauer, President of GF Automotive, set an important milestone for the joint venture, which will focus on lightweight solutions in aluminum and magnesium for the automotive industry, drawing and benefiting from the profound expertise of both partners.
As several major purchase orders are already secured by now, both companies are confident the facility will reach its full projected capacity in close future. Mr. Josef Edbauer, President of GF Automotive, affirms in his opening speech: “The opening of GF Linamar LLC is an important milestone for us to serve our global customers even better. The strong order intake shows that our expertise in reducing vehicle weight and therefore emissions is well appreciated by our customers. Certainly an very promising sign for the future“.
Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar Corporation, emphasizes the benefits of good cooperation and mutual expertise too: “We are very proud to celebrate the joint venture and the opening here and today together. GF Linamar LLC combines the competencies that both our companies share in the design, casting and machining of complex light metal products, to produce the vehicles of the future”.
