To represent this important sector it was founded in April 25th 1969 , by a small group of entrepreneurs, the Brazilian Foundry Association – ABIFA, inside the Tupy Foundry offices, in Sao Paulo. The first administration was elected in January 30th 1970 ; its president was Mr. Milton Ayres, of Progresso Metalfrit Foundry.
The commitment that in the beginning was only related with the foundry companies' technological development was empowered with a national performance, emphasizing political and economical subjects, aiming the protection and commercial development of the sector.
At the present time ABIFA counts with associates in the entire country and has an active and effective actuation in all the subjects that are of interest of its sector.
ABIFA is established in a very convenient location, in the most important economical center of the country, Paulista Avenue, it has a complete office framework to well attend its associates and visitors. Meeting and reception rooms and an auditorium with 70 people capacity where we present courses, workshops and plenary meetings. According to our decentralization politics we have been opening regional offices in Joinville (Santa Catarina state) and in Piracicaba ( Sao Paulo state). This way we intend to offer a better and closer service to our associates in these regions.
